2009 Re-announcement of Simplicity Bassinet Recall
Potential Problem:
The Simplicity 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 convertible bassinets contain metal bars that are covered by an
adjustable fabric flap which is attached by velcro. The fabric is folded down when the bassinet is
converted into a bed-side co-sleeping position. If the velcro is not properly re-secured when the flap
is adjusted, an infant can slip through the opening and become entrapped in the metal bars and
suffocate.
Because the safety of children is of the utmost importance to us, we feel that it is important for consumers to be aware that certain Simplicity bassinets which were sold between 2001 and 2004 involved in this safety alert may also contain the Graco® logo and “Winnie the Pooh” Motif. Simplicity bassinets manufactured through 2008 without Graco® branding may also be affected by this recall.
No matter which brand you think you have, we urge you to visit the CPSC Web site to check your model.
To determine whether your bassinet has been recalled, please check for the model number and the manufacture date code. Bassinets manufactured prior to 21st week of 2008, "2108" (before May 18) are recalled.

Solution:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bassinets and find an alternative, safe sleeping
environment for their baby. Consumers should return the recalled bassinets to the place of purchase for
a refund or store credit.
